About Marriage Minded:
First, I want to apologize to my readers for leaving Edmond and Colleens’ story sitting out there for so long. It took a while, but here we are. A book that was supposed to be a duet became a series, and I think it's finished with Edmond and Colleen.
Second, So here’s the thing I wanted to say. As an avid reader, I hate, like really hate picking up a book and finding out at the END of it. It’s part of a series I must buy the rest to have a completed story…
You will never have to worry about that happening in my books. This book was a freebie, so I didn’t feel too bad about not finishing Edmond and Colleen’s story in a timely fashion. Still, I could have done better and will strive to do so in the future.
Novellas and novels have stringent length parameters; I am a rule breaker and never follow the straight and narrow. I like a book that will give me a decent story, not too short, not too long. One I can finish in an evening. Most novellas never do that, and I feel cheated if I’ve paid for a novel and it's only seven chapters long. So again, if it's just a ditty. (I know the word means short song, still, the premise is the same.) If the story is short and I want to get it out, sans too much spell-checking or editing, I will not charge for it and will call it a novella. So that is why I have some free material and others I charge for. Editing costs money!
About Me:
I've had many jobs in my lifetime, flower shop, bookstore (not nearly as fun as I had hoped), print shop, and receptionist. I tried my hand at accounting, office administration, and as a graphic artist in the newspaper industry. Just to name a few, but my first love has always been literature.
After getting a chance to read and critique a couple of books for friends, I thought, why not. I sat down and penned (seriously, I own a computer) my first story.
I loved it but was not confident at that point to have anyone read my work, and my manuscript got shoved into a drawer. Four moves - to three different centers later, the story was long lost, and I still yearned to write, even with that fantastic story still rattling around in my head.
After a career change, I took some time to sit down and tasked myself to write a couple of stories I had been mentally knocking around. Two stories quickly became three, and I now had some completed work. After researching and looking at different publishing options, I found Smashwords. By this time, I only bought e-books; I figured this was the way to go. So with the first two books under my belt, I got busy and began two more books, which quickly morphed into five. I had just started writing Love Without Reservations when Resisting Temptations butted in, and I wrote that one in only a couple of weeks! Marce and Rod's story called, and I got busy with them, and they took off to a three-part series. I finally finished Love Without Reservations.
I know Marce and Rod are a boring couple, but their friends are funny, and I fell in love with the entire crew.
Just an FYI, the things that happen with the children in my stories are experiences I have had in RT. Like the centipedes, I still refuse to check pockets when doing the laundry to this day. My husband found me sitting on the folding table, bawling my eyes out and wondering what the hell my son was thinking!
I have at least 15 book ideas on my desktop, with characters fleshed out and brief outlines for each. That's not including ideas I have in my notebook and on my phone. My mind is always busy.
When I am not writing, I have a family - 3 adult children and their families I adore, a husband who is my very best friend. We love music, reading, and spending time together. I feel so blessed in my family, friends, and life.
Thank you to all my readers for purchasing my work.
